Google Surprises Everyone & Presents Android N
|
Droidever - Google has surprised the world by presenting the preliminary version of the much-anticipated Android N.
Unlike previous years, the Mountain View has decided to launch a beta before the Google I/O may. This new version is now available at this link and from what we can see so far is a version that promises much. The main innovations that we have already been able to observe include the possibility of dividing the screen into two, a new notification's panel, a new Doze to improve power consumption and new functionality In Case of Emergency.
Android N News
Split Screen
Undoubtedly, this is one of the most anticipated news. As well as the support for fingerprint last year, Android is getting at the same companies such as Samsung and LG already offering function screen divided into customized versions of Android. This new development will be very useful for smartphones with larger screens running Android pure as the Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, as well as Chrome Pixel C.
With this functionality, the user may divide the screen to view and use two applications at the same time. As we can see in the video, enable this feature it is very simple and we can even drag the dividing line between the two apps to make larger or smaller than you want to at any time.
New Notifications Panel
This is what it was talking about something for some time and has now been confirmed. Android N will come with a new panel of notifications and changes on the cards.
In addition, Google will allow developers to develop their own quick settings panel. Thus, it allows that vast customization options there are in the system.
Improved Doze
Doze was one of the great innovations of Marshmallow that promised to make us save a lot of battery. Doze active mode power consumption when the device is in standby and off screen. However, this means that the phone has to be still (on the table for example) and Doze is not active if we have mobile in the Pocket for example, from which we will not see the benefits.
However, in Android, Doze will be activated when the screen of the smartphone is turned off enabling us to save precious battery of our teams. Is it enough so that we don't have to walk loading the mobile daily? You will have to wait to see how effective is the new Doze but in principle I think that energy savings can be quite significant.
In Case of Emergency
Android N also includes a new feature called in case of emergency (ICE, In Case of Emergency in English) which aims to help us in an extreme situation.
Android N we have the option of completing emergency information in the previous Setup menu. In it we can specify our type of blood, allergies, medical history, and emergency contact should you have an accident or a medical emergency.
In addition, there are other news as Project Svelte as reducing the memory consumption of Android and this get to more devices, direct response notifications, support for improved 8 Java and several other news.
